DJ BEASTY writes in with some news: "My EP (Slipped Disc) is climbing the contactmusic.com weekly charts, it's reached number eight and is ranked number nine in the editor's favourites section. West Leeds Weekly News did a good feature on the EP and it should be on my site soon. Production of my new album (Unlimited Edition) is going great, local guitarist Chris Kirk is making a guest appearance on one track and DJ James Sammon (aka Pianoman and more recently Bar Code) who's previous credits include a number six hit, is remixing a track from the Slipped Disc EP. A tune from the EP has been chosen as the title track for a new independent film, 'Broke', released early next year. My recent acoustic gig, featuring lots of new material, was well appreciated at York and Ripon Student Union." http://www.djbeasty.com

ACTION DIRECTE unleash their fourth album in the new year, and will set off on the road to accompany it.The as-yet untitled mini-album, recorded at Dinamo Studios in West Yorkshire and produced by the Riot Squad, is released in early January 2001. http://www.actiondirecte.co.uk
http://www.peoplesound.com/artist/actiondirecte
A spokesman for the band said: "We are on a Media War footing - only by direct agitation can the message reach those who need it most, and Action Directe are determined to up the ante and launch an all-out attack on cultural gutter-trash and all counter-revolutionary art forms."

FOUR DAY HOMBRE recently came up with this internet friendly idea:
"What we'd like to do is use our website www.fourdayhombre.co.uk to host a range of band interviews, where each band enters the league (like the darts league in the melody maker) and we get to ask all sorts of questions about the band. Each band involved would then be featured, with their interview, links and gig dates, (even MP3's if you like) on the site for 2 weeks / a month (depending on interest) until another band took their place. There is a potential for 'battle of the bands' type quizzes here too.......We thought this might be a good way for us to strike up relationships with other bands, have fun, and have a feature that is beneficial to us all. (also if it ends up even slightly serious, we could all learn a little from each others experiences)
