Mark Knopfler and Christy Moore started their careers here, whilst local acts like Martin Carthy, Steve Phillips and Jon Strong still turn up to play on a regular basis. |

Nik Svarc's passionate and articulate delivery as a guitarist and composer of considerable range and scale make him one of the most individual figures active on the British scene today. Mon 24 Stormy Monday - Jam Session All Welcome
A great, friendly environment where everyone from experienced blues musicians to enthusiastic beginners play. There's usually people playing in every room so bring along an instrument or your voice and join in or just enjoy a drink whilst listening to the local talent.
Thu 27 Bluegrass Night
The last Thursday of every month. Always busy and lively, with a good selection of bluegrass musicians usually jamming away in every room of the pub along with a guest band in the back room.
Fri 28 Fay Hield Trio - FOLK NIGHT
Nominated for the Horizon at the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Runner up for 'Best Female Vocalist' FATEA Awards & 'Best Album' Roots Critics Poll. A real singer… in an age of honey throated whimpering.

A showcase for Al's talented students and more importantly an arena within which they can develop their performance skills.
From time to time a few special guests pop in. Patsy Matheson, Ian Fairbairn and Roy Whyke all popped in last year and were truly inspirational.

Leeds Storytelling Nights are an opportunity to experience the joys and thrills of live storytelling!
The first Thursday evening every month. The sessions are open to everyone so bring along that story you have been wanting to tell, or just come along and listen.
Fri 04 First Friday Sing - FOLK NIGHT
Everybody welcome to our regular Singers Nights which are popular both with the singers and those who wish to share in the atmosphere, relax on a Friday night, and to join in with the choruses.
Sat 05 Hot Pot Belly Band
Started in 1960s as an acoustic jug band. Over the years the band has changed members and become more electrified. Many famous Leeds musicians have sat-in with the band, including Mark Knopfler. They also feature one of very few remaining washboard players in the country - Geoff Smith, the only original member of the band.
Sun 06 The Odd Sunday Quiz Night (Eve from 8:30pm)

Fri 11 Ewan Mclennan - FOLK NIGHT
Winner of several awards including the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award Ewan is an emerging folk artist that has been making headlines. His music combines traditional folk, with an inevitable focus on the music of Scotland, as well as his own self-penned songs that are receiving critical acclaim in their own right.

It's a relaxed afternoon of music, song and craic. Bring your instrument or just join in the friendly atmosphere. Free Event.

Original, Local, Rock & Indie three piece band with their own individual sound.
Sun 13 Sarah Ellen Hughes Jazz Quartet - JAZZ NIGHT (Eve from 8:30pm)
Award-winning vocalist Sarah Ellen Hughes has established herself as a notable presence on the London jazz scene and beyond. She began her career with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), with whom she was lead vocalist from 2005-2008. Since then she has earned many accolades including winning the 2010 International Jazz Singing Competition, “Jazz Voices,” held in Lithuania.

The Wilson family consists of sister Pat and brothers Tom, Chris, Steve, Ken and Mike, all members of the same family from Teesside in the North East of England.
Sat 26 BDeye Music Presents: Whiter Than
A Powerful Indie folk three piece, Originals peppered with left of field covers plus Dariush & Jade who deliver some classic covers from a bygone age in a fantastically vibrant way and Kate Burton with a voice & playing style that anyone would be envious of and puts most others to shame, but modest with it. Great stuff!
